Even for the most pessimistic amongst us, it’s hard to resist jotting down goals and aspirations on January 1. It’s a refreshing season and the enticing smell of resetting is hard to resist. A chance to become skinnier, richer and/or more organized? Seems delicious. Most of us stick to our resolutions the first few days and weeks of January, but our vigor fades as the year progresses. Some may make it to March, May and June, but most will quit by February. I believe that we’re all a work in progress, and once we realize the beauty in this, we make it a priority to better ourselves, not change ourselves. Like my mom’s vintage prom dress, there’s only one of you. Embrace and appreciate your uniqueness and set realistic goals that will make you the best version of yourself.
French women consider lingerie as a necessity; an essential item not just in their wardrobe, but their well being. This year, 2017, I’m embracing this philosophy even more. I want it to be my best year for lingerie – host numerous workshops (one in Stockholm!), continue to promote the Nina Set, collaborate again with Simplicity, designing a true lingerie collection (yes, more than one style!). Along the way, I’ll be encouraging all of us to put as much time and energy into our lingerie as a good pair of jeans – get a bra fitting, invest in quality pieces, experiment with ways to make lingerie a part of our outfits. We all deserve to feel fabulous in our skivvies because as Dior said, “Without foundations, there can be no fashion.”
Cheers to a fruitful year with lots and lots of bras + panties! All this month, I’ll be posting ways to kickstart and up your lingerie game.
