Barrett Bralette Alteration: Adding a Hook + Eye
When I released the Barrett bralette in late February, I thought it would be a blip on the sewing radar. Not so. In a little over a month, it has surpassed my expectations. and it has been wonderful seeing all your iterations! Just last week, I posted this round up of Barretts, and since then, even more have popped up on Instagram! Pssttt… if you make one, be sure to share it and use the hashtag #barrettbralette! The kits have been great too – I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about the quality of the fabric and trims as well as the new packaging (thank you!). I’m also glad it helps with sourcing lingerie fabrics and trims, which can be a major headache.
Alexis is one of those who has made many iterations of Barrett. We met when she attended a bra making workshop in December and has become a good sewing friend. She was also a huge help in the development of the Barrett pattern and instructions (thanks Alexis!). Today, I’m sharing a video tutorial she posted showing how to add a hook + eye to the back. I’ve received a few emails asking how to do this. I planned on making a tutorial, but Alexis beat me to the punch.
