The day before Mother’s Day, last weekend’s Bra Making with Madalynne workshop was extra special. A percentage of the sales from class went to Breastcancer.org. I made the donation the morning after in honor of my mother, and I feel honored that I can contribute to beating breast cancer even in a small way. Miss you mom, Miss Margo.
This class was also different in that half the class made a lingerie set and half the class made a bikini. They used the same pattern – the Madalynne X Simplicity 8437 for the top and Madalynne X Simplicity 8229 (also the Noelle) for the bottoms. This was a great opportunity to learn the different fabrics and trims used for swimwear versus lingerie as well as different construction methods for each. The students who made the lingerie set used one of the newest DIY lingerie kits. Memorial Day is a few weeks away, but Denis was bikini ready, trying on her me-made swimsuit the second she stitched the last stitch.
The student’s projects differed, but we all made one thing together – a great memory. Thanks to these ladies for another great workshop, and I can’t wait to see Jen and Kim again in a few months (they had such a good time that they signed up for the July workshop!).
