An elastic presser foot is a great tool for beginner bra makers. Many sewists who are just getting into DIY lingerie have a hard time keeping the elastic elastic straight. The elastic presser eliminates this and gives an opportunity to practice sewing picot or flat elastic. Even though the pressure foot has a dial that controls tension, I encourage bra makers to stretch the elastic themselves so that they develop a “hand” at applying the right tension.
