Nestled in the charming city of Nice, Tissus Torretto Tessuti was a must-visit destination during my one week trip to the south of France, and it’s must-visit destination  for anyone with a love for fabrics, AKA #fabricaddict. It was recommended to me when I posted to IG stories asking for recommendations, and I’m so thankful the person responded and recommended it! Thank you – you know you are! Whether you’re looking for budget-friendly finds or one-of-a-kind yardage, this fabric store in Nice has something for every sewist, offering both quality and variety.

Warm and Welcoming Staff

The first thing that struck me about Tissus Torretto Tessuti was the incredibly warm welcome I received. I only speak a few words in French, but the staff quickly changed their language to English to help me out. They weren’t only knowledgeable but were genuinely enthusiastic about helping me find the perfect fabric. The woman saw me wearing my S9974 brocade corset top and pointed me in the direction of brocades. She also showed me a paneled organza that was the most gorgeous fabric I had seen in a while. It’s was this personal touch that makes shopping here feel like more than just a transaction—it feels like meeting your fabric shipping bestie and geeking out over fabrics.

A Wide Selection for Every Budget

Tissus Torretto Tessuti has an extensive range of fabrics that cater to a wide variety of tastes and budgets. When I’m traveling, I splurge and buy fabric that would usually be over my budget. One, because that sewing project will have a fond memory attached to it. Two, because I like to support local, small businesses just like people support Madalyne. From luxurious silks and delicate laces to sturdy cottons and versatile linens, there’s something for every sewists. What’s truly impressive is the balance between high-end designer fabrics, printed in-house fabrics and more affordable fabrics. You can splurge on something truly exquisite for a special project, but you can also find an affordable fabric for everyday sewing.
