Introducing the Fenix Bodysuit
OVERVIEW, SIZING + INSPIRATION
The Fenix a formfitting bodysuit that features a 3-part bra cup – a lower cup with a vertical seam that provides shaping and volume for all cup sizes – and a triangle upper cup. The bralette is finished with fold over elastic binding along the neckline, the underarm, and the top back band. A wide elastic band at the bottom gives additional support. Bralette also has adjustable shoulder straps and a hook and eye at the center back. Panty has diagonal seams and a small cut out on the front, and a large cut out on the back. Bodysuit can be made with or without a snap closure at the gussett. The Fenix bodysuit is available in sizes XS-4XL and cup sizes A/B, C/D and E/F for each alpha size.
The Fenix was inspired by this ready made bodysuit from Burgundy Fox. Being into color blocking and pairing bright colors and patterns the past year, I loved the combo of pale blue, lavender and yellow. All are colors I’ve been playing around when putting together new styles for kits + ready made. This bodysuit was also similar to the Maris on top and the Lawren on bottom, and I could envision making transforming this into something Madalynne.
This is a great segway into my next point. The bodysuit may look complicated, but if you’ve made a Maris bralette and/or a Lawren bodysuit, the Fenix is a mashup of the two. So, sewing it should be a relatively easy! The top is the Maris with a few updates (moved the strap points in) and the bottom is the Lawren with a higher cut leg and updated torso length (we found that the Lawren was short for the height it was drafted for, so the rise was lengthened).
SEW ALONG, FACEBOOK GROUP + IG LIVE
The PDF pattern comes with a full sew along that will walk you through each and every step. If you’re a visual learner like me however, you need not only pictures, but video. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be going live in the Fenix Facebook group to do a full sew along as well as cover more topics like how to adjust the torso length, common pattern alterations, and more. Each one will be recording, saved and uploaded to Madalynne’s YouTube channel so you can watch it later.

SHOP THE PATTERN + DIY KITS
When I first started sewing lingerie, there were too many times I got frustrated trying to source all the supplies for a lingerie project. Game changer was when I discovered DIY lingerie kits. I know how useful they are – I want to set you up for success so you have all the right materials and trims to make the Fenix over and over.
For the first time ever, the Fenix is available in both PDF and printed versions! The PDF is available in A4, Letter and A0 and features selectable layers that gives the option of choosing which size(s) to print.
