Wow, wow, WOW! What an amazing event last weekend! The weather was not in my favor, but over 60 people came out to support the opening of a new version of Madalynne, a Philadelphia lingerie boutique, sew shop and more. Located in the heart of Philly’s Brewerytown neighborhood, this new space will offer hand-crafted, custom lingerie, bra making workshops and lessons, open sews, events and more. It’s hard to believe that a decade ago, I dropped out of college to pursue a dream – sewing. I was only 22 years old. Some laughed, some said it was a bad idea, and for years, many people asked when I was going to go back school. This decade, yours truly, who only has a high school diploma, opened a 1,000 sq ft studio + store!
It was great to see old (sewing) faces, such as Mandy, Danielle, Melissa, as well as new (sewing) faces. I blabbed to the new folks about the open sews, which are now 2-4 times a week, and hope to see them in the near future. They truly are a lot of fun and there is a good group of sewists who attend regularly.
One new face was the winner of PFAFF newest admire™ air 5000, a one touch air threading overlock machine. Rayne is a local boutique owner and her grandmother told her about the event. Glad she came out! I hope to see you soon Rayne!
Thank you to the incredible sponsors and partners who made the event spectacular!
Stay tuned for the reveal and details of the new Madalynne studio + store !
